Postpartum Doula Services for Moms and Families in the Detroit Metro Area

Support after delivery is good for mom & baby

Society tells us that the hardest part of having a baby is the labor itself. But after delivery, moms and families are often left without support they need during this critical period. As a postpartum doula, I’m here to assist in your emotional and physical recovery

Because women and birthing people need support. Look to the generations before us — women were not alone with their babies after giving birth. We had villages to support us, family who helped out, or even paid help in the household. New parents were not left alone to heal from delivery, try to feed their baby, and maintain a household (while also possibly caring for other children). And yet, we expect new parents to do that now.

Postpartum help isn’t just nice to have — it’s necessary! Statistics show that women who have support during the postpartum period report less postpartum depression, breastfeed for a longer duration, and adjust better to parenthood.

Enjoy time with your baby, I’ll take care of the rest

You need help after birth — whether you delivered vaginally or through cesarean. Your body is still healing and this period is critical for the mother-baby bond. You want to enjoy time with baby, rather than trying to juggle housework, meal planning and cooking, and even trying to physically care for other children.

Not everyone has in-home support after a new baby comes, especially if their partner or family has to work outside the home immediately after birth. That’s why I provide postpartum (after-birth) doula services, both in-home and virtually.
